I am a registered nurse dedicated to the safe, ethical care of hospitalized people through direct patient care, procedure development, and nurse/student education and training. Over the course of my career I have worked in acute care facilities, summer camps for disabled children, utilization review, nursing management and supervision, and nursing education. With the growing use of social media in nursing I unexpectedly found myself working with the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) in bringing the Magnet Learning Communities® online. Utilizing skills learned while acquiring a graduate degree, and personal internet wanderings, I furthered my knowledge of adult learning and organizational theory and strategy. This provided me with insight into utilizing the internet as an educational tool. I am very happy to be fulfilling my goal of educating nurses at San Diego City College.

California born, San Diego raised, I have traveled and lived all over the country.  My favorite cities are Seattle and NYC, but was happy to return home to my family and America's Finest City.    I enjoy books, movies, musical theatre, the beach, running half marathons, yoga, hiking, and eating wild blueberries and taking naps on Mt. Rainier.  I also have an unhealthy obsession with college basketball.
