I've taught at City College for 27 years! Before that I worked for the San Diego Unified School District in their Child Development Programs for 10 years. I began my higher education right here at City College in 1972! I continued at CSUN and earned a BA in Child Development with a minor in Psychology in 1976. I completed my MS at National University in 2000, with a specialization in Education & Curriculum Design.

Chair City College FLEX/Professional Development Committee, '04-'06 Presenter at Service Learning & Civic Engagement National conferences, National Association for the Education of Young Children conferences. Co-Authored the "Parents Growing Together" program, a parent education curriculum as a joint project between County Mental Health & San Diego Unified School District. (1987-1990)
I was born and raised in San Diego. I graduated from Point Loma High School in 1971. I have been married to Steve Fontana for 26 years! (and they said it wouldn't last!) We have three daughters: Laurel (Luey), 24, a 2007 Berkeley Biology graduate, and a SD County Sheriff. Kirsten (Kirbles), 21, a senior at Rutgers University in New Jersey and a member of the swim team. (Backstroke!!!) And, Stephanie (Fetti), a senior at Patrick Henry High School, where she is a varsity Cheerleader... with thoughts of majoring in Spanish. (at least today!)
