Born and educated in Korea with BFA and MFA from Seoul National University, I came to the US in 1967 to further my education in Ceramic Sculpture at University of California, Berkeley with an UC Regent Fellowship. After receiving my second MA at UCB, I have been teaching and practicing arts in US last 35 years. Currently, I am a professor of fine arts at San Diego City College and a practicing artist with a studio in Escondido, CA. I also have been developing several image transfer techniques of my own for ceramic and glass surfaces last 5 years.

My works have been showcased over 150 solo and group exhibitions in US, Korea, Hong Kong and Japan including Smithsonian Museum. My works are permanent collections of many museums including Seoul Metropolitan Museum in Korea. I have been lecturing at NCECA and other Universities, giving workshops in US and Korea. I curated many exhibitions and also wrote articles on professional ceramic journals and magazines. My works were reviewed in many professioanl magazines and newspapers.
