Inaugural Celebration

In January, 2010, the SD City College Radio-TV-Film Alumni Association held its first reunion gathering. The turnout was a testiment to the support, dedication and growth of the RTVF department - and we raised about $2,000 for the department. Chair Laura Castañeda, professors John Hildebrand and Mike Kaye, engineer Larry Quick and President Terrence Burgess welcomed a star-studded group that launched the Alumni Association in high style. The goal of the Association is to establish a professional networking group and mentorship program for students currently enrolled in the Radio-TV-Film Department. Many of our former success stories were on hand to network and reunite. Headshots of former students now working in the Radio-TV-Film industries are proudly displayed in the 'C' building "Wall of Fame." Money raised through the Association will keep the program running at a high level during difficult economic times - and allow City College to continue to offer its bounty of scholarships. To support this renowned department, please join the Association today.
