Welcome to San Diego City College!

New Student Orientations provide important information to students about the programs and services available at City College as well as strategies for student success.
 

Orientation is a two-step process:

1.   Online Orientation
         »Complete the Online Orientation, which takes about 90 minutes.
            »Get the most out of your 1st semester planning w/ a counselor--complete the online orientation before the on-campus one.

2.     On Campus Orientation
            »Attend an on-campus orientation session.
            »Your first meeting with a counselor will take place at orientation. 
            »Counselors will help you plan your first semester

Veterans Mandatory Orientations

For New VA Students and Second Semester VA Students Requesting Education Plans

All first time veterans and/or dependants receiving educational benefits must attend a mandatory VA orientation before being signed up for an educational plan or to sign off on classes. Please contact the Veterans Office at 619 388-3504 to learn more.

Benefits of attending new student orientation

For new students who attend an orientation:

  • Learn how to interpret your assessment results, choose your classes and complete a First Semester Education Plan with the help of a Counselor
  • Learn about Associate Degrees, Certificates and Transfer Plans
  • Learn about important Programs, Support Services and Departments on campus to help you succeed at City College
  • Be introduced to City College and learn about the campus culture
  • Meet other new students and City College faculty
