About SDCC Baseball

The San Diego City College baseball program is dedicated to making its members better student-athletes. We are a family and we will continue this tradition for years to come. Here at SDCC, our goal is to place all of our student-athletes at 4-year institutions and/or in professional baseball. Over the past 11 years, we have had a high success rate at doing so.

The following are just some of the events and programs we participate in.

strength and conditioning

The coaching staff believe in improving all players' strength, aerobic and anaerobic endurance, and flexibility. We base our workouts on input from professional baseball strength and conditioning instructors. Our coaches have years of experience in workout programs and have master's degrees in Physical Education. San Diego City College offers three workout facilities, two of which are brand new. There is a new team room and a new state-of-the-art training room. Our support staff are second-to-none and truly care about our student-athletes.

baseball skills

We spend countless hours working with our student-athletes on mechanics, individual skill improvement and baseball knowledge. We pride ourselves on providing a professional atmosphere that emphasizes the necessary skills to be an elite athlete. Our staff have a wide range of experience and involvement in professional baseball, national programs like the USA Junior Olympics Team, as well as local teams, leagues, and coaches' conferences. We believe in providing the best in coaching and mentorship at San Diego City College.

volunteer work

We believe in giving back to the community through free clinics for younger ball players. We are involved in the North Park Little League and offer our help to numerous teams and individuals. We offer coaches clinics and you can find us involved in the community through college events like the Breast Cancer Walk, Asthma Walk and other charitable organizations.

academic advising

To be a student-athlete at any institution it is important to work hard in the classroom and on the field. We stress the importance of prioritizing. Our student-athletes have three major concerns: family, academics, and baseball. The college provides helpful services such as study halls, tutors, and an academic advisor. We want you to succeed. The program and the college will assist you in anyway possible.
