Knights' Rally Falls Short, Lose 6-4 to Grossmont


After falling behind by three runs, the Knights got back into the game with a 2-run home run from Joseph Lavin in the eighth inning, but Grossmont held on to win 6-4. The loss was the Knights' fourth straight and dropped their overall record to 5-14 and Pacific Coast Athletic Conference record to 3-7.

Knights Hold On for 6-4 Win Over Mesa


The Knights (5-10, 3-3 PCAC) got back to .500 in conference after hanging on for a 6-4 home win over Mesa on Saturday. The winning run was scored on Geordy Smith's 2-run home run in the bottom of the sixth inning.

Knights End Losing Streak With Shutout of MSJC


The SDCC baseball team snapped a six-game losing streak on Saturday with a 2-0 home victory over Mt. San Jacinto in the PCAC opener. Pitchers Anthony Parise and Eric Tek combined for the shutout, allowing nine hits and four walks with two strikeouts.

Knights Upended by Fullerton, 10-3


The Knights won two of their first three games to begin the season, but have now lost two straight after suffering a 10-3 home loss to Fullerton (4-1). Geordy Smith was responsible for all three runs for the Knights as he went 2-for-4 with three RBI.

Late Runs Give Knights A 4-2 Win Over Irvine Valley


An RBI double by Bobby Martinez keyed a two-run eighth inning that broke a 2-2 tie and catapulted the Knights to a 4-2 victory over Irvine Valley at Morley Field Tuesday afternoon.

Four-Run Rally In 9th Gives Knights An 8-7 Win Over Chaffey


A day after opening the season with a tough, 3-2, road loss at Saddleback, the Knights responded with an exhilarating 8-7 comeback victory at home vs. Chaffey. Jp Rios, who went 3-for-5 with three RBI, came through with a bases-loaded hit in the bottom of the ninth to put the Knights on top.

Knights End Season With 5th Straight Win


The Knights finished the 2013 season on a high note by defeating the PCAC champion Palomar Comets, 1-0, for their fifth consecutive win. It was the fourth straight game between the teams that was decided by one run, but the first that the Knights won. Cole Chandler (3-2) earned the win after striking out five and allowing just four hits in 7.2 innings. Brent Daugherty earned his second save of the season after retiring the final four batters.

Knights Extend Win Streak to Three With 4-3 Win Over Grossmont


The Knights extended their winning streak to three after holding on for a 4-3 home victory over Grossmont. Starting pitcher Andrew Macmahon (3-4) earned the win after going 7.2 innings and allowing three runs (one earned) on six hits and striking out three. Ryan McClanahan went 3-for-4 with on RBI and two runs. Fabian Cosio went 2-for-3 with with two RBI.

Knights Drop 2-1 Decision to Palomar


Knights' starting pitcher Cole Chandler (1-2) pitched his second complete game of the season while giving up two runs (one earned) on seven hits with five strikeouts, but it wasn't enough as the Knights lost, 2-1, to the first place Palomar Comets. Palomar starting pitcher Kyle Montiel (7-1) also went the distance and allowed just one run on nine hits.

Chandler's Walk-Off Single in the 11th Lifts the Knights to a 6-5 Win Over Southwestern


Matt Arlington hit a 2-run home run in the bottom of the ninth that forced extra innings and Blake Chandler's walk-off single in the 11th gave the Knights a 6-5 home victory over Southwestern that ended a four-game losing skid.
