The No. 14 Knights broke the game open with a 17-2 run to start the second half and went on to rout Cuyamaca, 90-65, for their fifth straight victory and their eighth in the last nine games.

The Knights won three consecutive games over the weekend to claim their first Knights Invitational tournament championship. Chris "Boom" Burton averaged 25.3 points and 7.0 rebounds during the weekend and was named tournament Most Valuable Player. Christian Jones averaged 14.0 points and 5.3 rebounds and was named to the All-tournament team.
Mike Scott, who played the 2013-14 season with the SDCC Knights, will be moving north of the border to Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada to play for the University of Saskatchewan Huskies in 2014-15.
Prior to the second round of the NCAA Men's Basketball Championship tournament, the teams from the University of Tulsa and Oklahoma State used San Diego City College's Harry West Gymnasium as their practice facility.
The California Community College Athletic Association has selected sophomore point guard Martin Thomas to the All-state first team. Thomas is the fourth SDCC player chosen for the all-state first team since Head Coach Mitch Charlens took over in 2004-05. Malcolm Thomas (currently with the Utah Jazz) was selected in 2008-09, Terrence Boyd in 2010-11, and Stephon Lamar in 2011-12
All five starters for San Diego City scored at least 12 points, but it wasn't enough on Saturday night as the Knights' hopes for a long postseason run were dashed with an 80-76 loss at Chaffey in the second round of the CCCAA Southern California Regional playoffs.
