Ismael Fernandez Competes at UCSD Triton Invitational


This Spring, San Diego City College men's and women's cross country runners have been competing as an unofficial track club in events around San Diego. On Saturday, Ismael Fernandez competed in the men's 1500m at the UCSD Triton Invitational and placed fourth overall in heat seven with a time of 4:27.32. This was his first competition on the track ever.

Former Knights' Assistant Coach, Meb Keflezighi, Wins Boston Marathon


Meb Keflezighi, who was an assistant men's cross country coach in the Fall of 2000, has won the Boston Marathon. He is the first American man since 1983 to win the race.

Christopher Felix Competes In State Championship


San Diego City's top men's cross country runner, Christopher Felix, was the only Knight who qualified for the CCCAA State Championship and finished the 4-mile race in 22:46.49 with an average mile of 5:41. Felix came in 142nd out of 203 runners.

Knights Qualify For SoCal Championships


The San Diego City College men's cross country team qualified for the CCCAA Southern California championships after finishing 5th of five teams at the Pacific Coast Athletic Conference championships.

Knights Claim 4th Place at San Diego Invitational


The SDCC men's cross country team crossed the finish line in 4th place and had three top 20 finishers at the San Diego Invitational. Andrew Beckner was the top finisher (12th) for the Knights with a time of 22:41 in the 4-mile course at Mission Bay Park. Enrique Zapata came in 15th place with a time of 23:01 and Vincent Santiago crossed the line in the 20th spot with a time of 23:33.

Knights Finish in 6th at Foothill Invitational


The SDCC men's cross country team had its best showing of the season as they crossed the finish line in sixth place at the Foothill Invitational. Andrew Beckner was the Knights' top finisher (22nd), completing the 4-mile course with a time of 22:37.

Paul Greer Named Coach of the Year


Paul Greer, head coach of the men's cross country team, was named Men's Cross Country Coach of the Year by the Pacific Coast Athletics Conference. Greer led the Knights to their best season since 2003. They had top 10 finishes at the Palomar Invitational (6th of 11) on September 9th and at the Golden West Central Park Classic on September 23rd. City also qualified for the Southern California championships for the first time since '03 where they nearly performed well enough to qualify for the

Bernal Earns Spot at State Championships


San Diego City cross country runner Nick Bernal finished 31st at the Southern California Championships on Saturday with a time of 21:43.
