2018 Profiles

andre berry

Andre was the #1 distance runner at Castle Park H.S. his senior year. He has already made a strong mark running as our #4 man on one of the top-ranked teams in SoCal. With only 2 meets run so far, Andre has run 21:36 at the SoCal Preview Meet and is improving quickly.

juan camacho

Juan was the 7th man on The Otay Ranch XC Team, which won the 2016 San Diego DI CIF Championship. He is presently the Knight’s #5 runner on a team presently ranked 11th in California. Juan also ran 9:28.3 for 3,000 meters last spring.

steven felix

Steven is a student-athlete who loves to run. His passion for running has brought great improvement since cross country season has started. He is definitely a welcome addition to a strong Knights’ Cross Country Program.

carlos fonseca 

Since joining us last year, Carlos has improved grately as a runner. He is just beginning to realize he has some innate abilities as a runner. His improvement has come quickly since the beginning of this summer and should continue this season.

sebastian luna

Sebastian had his best year as a senior at ORHS running a sub-10:20 3200 meters.As a Knight, Sebastian has run well having placed as our #5 to #6 man with the potential for moving higher on the team as the season progresses.

luis martinez

Luis ran some distance races at Mar Vista but was more of a hurdler. He has already improved by almost 2 minutes from his first 4-mile race to his second.

edwin mejia

Edwin came to SDCC from Sweetwater H.S. where he ran a 10:40 3200 meters. He ran 15:57 for the 5,000 and 9:16 for the 3,000 last spring at SDCC. So far this year he has battled for our #1 spot, while running a PR 20:45 at The SoCal Preview in Cerritos & placed 12th at The PCAC Preview Meet the next week.

anthony orduno

While at Hoover, Anthony was one of the top XC runners and ran 10:14 for 3,200 Meters. As a Knight, Anthony has been the #3 runner already running as fast as 21:13 for 4-miles with a work ethic, which will bring big improvement this season & in the future.

jose resendiz

Jose was a 2:02 800 meter runner at Point Loma. He has worked hard this summer and season to improve quickly. This XC Season, he has dropped from a 24:50 at Time Trials to 22:44 at the SoCal Preview Meet.

andrew sanchez

During his Chula Vista running career, Andrew ran a 5:17 for 1,600 meters. In his first season of College XC, Andrew has already run 24:57 for 4-miles.

jorge tejeda

Jorge ran a 10:11 3200 meters as a junior at Olympian H.S. That same year he was a key member of The Eagles Cross Country Team, which won the first league XC Championship in school history. Last Fall, Jorge ran 21:25 for 4-miles ranking him as our 2nd fastest runner. After a mild injury, Joge is set to reclaim a top 5 spot for this year’s team.

jose valenzuela

Jose ran in the 10:30’s for 3200 meters and 2:05 for 800 meters at Southwest High. He ran 4:16 for 1500 meters last spring. This fall he has shown a new passion for XC. This new found passion has led him to break his PR after only two races so far this season.

andres zamudio

Andres ran 10:34 for 3200 meters in his senior year at San Ysidro H.S.and also qualified for CIF Finals. In his 1st year at SDCC, he ran 9:15 for 3,000 meters during track season. He was the #1 XC runner last year while running 20:09 for 4-miles. This fall, he has already run 20:48 and at The PCAC Preview Meet he placed 5th in 20:53 running 5:04 over the 4th mile.
