The 2012 National Girls & Women in Sports Day will be held on Saturday, March 3 on the campus of San Diego City College from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
This event is open to 4th - 8th grade girls only. It is a free event and will take place rain or shine.

For the second time in the last three games, freshman forward Melissa Arauz played a key role in helping the Knights to a victory. A week ago, she had the game-winning goal in the 82nd minute against Southwestern. On Friday, Arauz put in two goals and assisted on another in a 5-2 home win over the Grossmont Griffins.

A late header by freshman forward Melissa Arauz proved to be the difference on Friday afternoon as the Knights defeated Southwestern, 2-1, for their first conference win of the season.

The Knights gave the Mira Costa Spartans all they can handle on Tuesday afternoon, but came up short and lost, 1-0.

In the first PCAC match of the season, the Knights nearly came back from a two-goal deficit, but fell short and lost at home to Palomar, 3-1.

The SDCC women's soccer team ended a 22-game losing streak on Tuesday as they defeated L.A. Valley, 4-3. Before Tuesday's victory, the last time the Knights won a game was on November 13, 2009.

The Knights opened up their 2011 season at home against San Bernardino Valley, the defending state champions, but fell to the Wolverines, 4-0.

The 2011 Harry West Golf Tournament will be held on Friday, May 13, 2011 at the Carmel Ranch Country Club with a shotgun start at 1 p.m.

On Saturday, March 5, the San Diego City Knights and friends hosted the 18th annual National Girls and Women in Sports Day at the San Diego City College Sports Complex.
Over 200 girls were treated to a full day of sports clinics, special activities and giveaways compliments of over 100 volunteers and funding from members of the downtown community that believe in offering this opportunity to children who typically do not have access to such facilities, instruction and enthusiasm.
