The San Diego City College women's soccer team opened the 2016 PCAC schedule with a 5-0 home win over Imperial Valley in which five different Knights scored.
Women's soccer player Rebecca Garcia has signed a letter of intent to play at William Jessup University.
Garcia, who was named Pacific Coast Athletic Conference South Offensive Player of the Year in 2014, led the Knights in total points with 15. She was first on the team in assists (5) and was second in goals (10). She had a team-high three game-winning goals during the 2014 season.
During her two-year career at SDCC, Garcia recorded a total of nine goals and six assists.
A goal by Knights' forward Rebecca Garcia in the opening minute of the second half was all the Knights needed on Tuesday as they held on for the 1-0 home victory over Cuyamaca. The Knights, who have now won three straight and four of the last five, improved to 6-11-4 overall and 3-2 in the Pacific Coast Athletic Conference.

Monzerrat Tavera to Priscilla Estrada. That was the combination that led to both SDCC goals in a 2-1 home victory over Grossmont on Tuesday. The win gave the Knights a 1-1 split in the season series with Grossmont.

The Knights earned their second straight shutout victory on Tuesday as they defeated Victor Valley, 1-0. With an assist from Mary Jane Lopez, Rebecca Garcia scored the lone goal of the match. It was her second of the season.
