Sarah Burns, who played at San Diego City College in 2007, has been named as the NAIA National Softball Player of the Week.

Shafer, Wright, Young Named to All-PCAC 1st Team

The Pacific Coast Athletic Conference has selected Hannah Shafer, Brittany Wright and Dena Young to the 2011 All-PCAC First Team. Jenea Marjama, Jenna Howell and Ashley Whitmore were also honored by the conference.

Knights Beat Mesa, 1-0; Complete Season Sweep

For the first time since the 2007 season, the SDCC women's softball team completed a season sweep of PCAC rival San Diego Mesa after hanging on for a 1-0 victory over the Olympians on Friday afternoon.

A day after Hannah Shafer pitched a perfect game, sophomore Dena Young nearly accomplished the same feat by throwing a one-hitter in the Knights' 13-0 victory over Southwestern in the opening game of PCAC play.
