Howard Harris To Guest Coach vs Mesa

    3/21/2014

Head Coach Kevin Pratte has announced that Howard Harris will be a guest coach for the match against San Diego Mesa scheduled to take place on Friday, March 21 at 6 pm.

Prior to the start of the season, Coach Pratte took his squad on a  team bonding trip to play in a lawn bowling tournament in Balboa Park. During the tournament Harris, the President of the Lawn Bowling Club, watched over the team and provided some pointers.

Harris has lived in San Diego for 55 years and he attended law school at Cal Western in downtown San Diego. While living in San Diego, Harris has established himself as one of the top lawn bowlers in the world. At the 2005 Maccabia games in Israel, Harries earned a bronze medal during the lawn bowling worldwide tournament. Harris was the only American to medal at the Maccabia games.

Pratte and Harris hit it off while lawn bowling during that team bonding event. “I picked Coach Howard to guest coach because he is a winner and a class act," said Pratte. Coach Howard can talk to my players about being the best in the world at the sport he loves and he has modeled great behavior by graduating from law school. There is no doubt in my mind the Coach Howard demonstrates what winning forever is all about."

For his pregame speech, Coach Howard plans on talking about living to your potential, working and playing smart. In Coach Howard’s opinion, the mental aspect of the game is the most important part of sports.
