Knights Swept by Orange Coast College
The San Diego City College men's volleyball team lost in three straight sets to Orange Coast College on Friday afternoon with set scores of 25-8, 25-8 and 25-11.
Orange Coast came out on fire in the first set and never slowed down. "Coach Travis runs a great program and has a lot of talent," said Knights' Head Coach Kevin Pratte. "He gets the most out of his guys and they have an excellent shot of winning the state title."
In all three sets Orange Coast came out to an early lead and never took their foot of the gas. The Knights played with great passion by making some impressive defensive plays.
"Orange Coast kept hammering the ball at us and our back row defenders made some impressive digs tonight," said Pratte.
The Knights have three more matches remaining in the 2014 season with their next one scheduled for Monday, March 31 at 1 p.m. against Palomar College. "It is really important that our team continues to improve on our volleyball skills and enjoy the rest of the season. These guys have been a pleasure to work with and I look forward to coaching this group of guys for the remaining part of the season."
