Knights Fall to Grossmont In Last Road Match
The San Diego City College men’s volleyball fell to Grossmont, 3-0, in the final road match of the season. Set scores were 25-14, 25-15 and 25-16.
Grossmont came out attacking efficiently and serving aggressively in the opening set. “Grossmont is a solid team and Coach Travis runs a good program," said Knights Head Coach Kevin Pratte. "At the end of the day, they out played us."
In sets two and three, Grossmont had control of the match, but the Knights showed some fight by making some great plays. “Yev did a nice job attacking well and Ian made some terrific sets tonight,” said Pratte.
The Knights will be back in action on Friday against Irvine Valley College for sophomore night. “It has been a pleasure coaching this team," said Pratte. "They remain upbeat and give great effort every match. This season, we have been outmatched in a lot of our matches, but nobody can take away how hard these guys fight during every match. I would not want to coach anywhere else and would not want to coach a different group of guys. I am proud to be the San Diego City College men’s volleyball coach."
