    Coach Pratte Takes Zack Kramer to Downtown Rotary


    On Wednesday, October 29, Head Coach Kevin Pratte took freshman middle blocker Zach Kramer to the Downtown Rotary, a club he joined in early September. “When I moved to San Diego, I wanted to join an organization that focused on making a difference in San Diego," said Pratte. "So far, many of my fellow rotarians have become mentors and they have modeled excellent behavior for me to emulate in the community.

    Knights Take Break From the Court To Play Halloween Wiffle Ball


    The San Diego City College men's volleyball team took a much-needed break from practice on Firday and went down to Petco Park to play in a wiffle ball game for some Halloween fun. "The guys have been working really hard this off season and I figured it would be good to mix it up," said Head Coach Kevin Pratte.

    Coach Pratte Joins San Diego Rotary Club


    This past week, San Diego City College men’s and women's volleyball coach Kevin Pratte became an official member of the San Diego Downtown Rotary Club. The Rotary meets once a week to discuss how to make a difference in the San Diego community and actively volunteer in the community to help make San Diego one of the finest cities to live in.

    The San Diego City College men’s and women’s volleyball teams participated as volunteers at the U.S. Sand Sculpting Challenge, held on the "B" street pier in downtown San Diego from August 28 to September 1.

    On Saturday, July 19, two of Coach Pratte’s men’s volleyball players joined him in giving back to the community by volunteering at Stand Down Veteran’s Village, held at San Diego High School. This event helps to provide basic needs and services to homeless veterans in San Diego such as medical and dental care, and access to donated clothes and barbers.

    Mario Martinez Headed to USD


    Mario Martinez is headed to the University of San Diego beginning in the Fall of 2014. "Transferring to the University of San Diego has been such a great experience and a great challenge," said Martinez. "It definitely has turned my life around. My family, friends and coaching staff are really proud of me. Sure it's going to be hard and very challenging, but the everyday life is challenging as well.     On Friday, May 23rd, Mario Martinez and Ian Leibitzke both proudly graduated from San Diego City College.

    Team Captain Ian Leibitzke To Play at Morningside College


    Ian Leibitzke, who was the starting setter and captain of the 2014 SDCC men's volleyball team, will be continuing his playing career at Morningside College in Sioux City, Iowa. Leibitzke's leadership skills earned him the prestigious Harry West scholarship, an award given to a San Diego City College standout student-athlete.

    Knights Lose to Irvine Valley in Final Match of Season


    The San Diego City College men’s volleyball team fell to Irvine Valley in straight sets at home on Friday afternoon in the final match of the season with set scores of 25-6, 25-8 and 25-16.
