DIGITAL JOURNALISM PROGRAM

About Us

City Times newspaper, Legend magazine and affiliated digital content are student-produced news publications through San Diego City College’s new Digital Journalism Program (formerly Journalism).

City Times, published regularly throughout the school year, has served the San Diego City College community nonstop since 1945. Legend, reintroduced as a news magazine in Fall 2013 in conjunction with City College’s centennial, has its roots in the college’s original yearbook and magazine of the same name, last published in 1965.

The college’s award-winning Digital Journalism publications provide students the opportunity for class workshops and actual experience in writing, editing, photography, design and production for application in the industry.

Digital Journalism is part of San Diego City College’s dynamic Communications Department, offering courses and degree programs in Radio/Television/Film and Speech, and home of cutting-edge radio station Jazz88 and the award-winning “Newscene” student television news broadcast.
