The Independent Learning Center (ILC) provides the following equipment, software, and services for currently-enrolled student use. Note: Students must be currently enrolled and have their valid student ID card with them to use the ILC labs and to log their time.


GENERAL PURPOSE & Language Lab (R105)

  • Internet access

  • Microsoft Office 2007 full suite, including Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Access
  • General computing software: go to lists
  • Media for 296 Individual Instruction courses: go to lists
  • Media Collection: search library catalog for specific titles
  • Media viewing stations (DVD, VHS)
  • Adaptive workstations
  • Print station (includes one color toner printer @ 50c per page)

GENERAL PURPOSE Computing Lab (R106)

GENERAL ASSISTANCE

ILC staff can assist you with the following procedures:

  • accessing the Internet
  • using Office 2007 programs
  • accessing your online course
  • orienting you to the 296 Individualized Instruction course procedures
  • printing
  • scanning images
ILC staff can provide minimal assistance using software programs, but does not provide software training.  Students using the ILC should have basic computer skills. Please visit the Counseling Department to learn your options regarding computer and software skills courses.

ILC staff does not provide assistance with course content or research.  Contact the Tutorial Center, English Center, or Math Center for course-related assistance. Contact the Library Information Desk on the second floor of the LRC for research assistance.

PRINTING

Each ILC computer lab has a print station with a black and white laser printer. R105 also contains a color laser printer, which charges 50c per page. Use of the printers requires a print card, which may be purchased upstairs near the Copy Room or from the Bookstore or Accounting Office (A-114).
