The Office of Classroom Technology Management services to faculty are primarily support for the classroom environment and support for special events sponsored by administrative offices.  Assistance includes the Delivery and setup of equipment by reservation; training for using Smart Classrooms or any other department equipment; maintenance and troubleshooting technical issues or safety concerns with equipment from the The Office of Classroom Technology Management; video production for campus events; and media duplication and transfer.

Delivery & Setup of Equipment (reservations required)

For classroom instruction/meeting support: Follow this one-step process:

  • Complete and submit the Media Equipment Reservation Request form. Requests must be submitted at least 2 business days in advance of need.

Equipment available for classroom instruction for any room on campus:

  • CD player
  • Laptop computer
  • LCD projector
  • Television
  • Transparency projector
  • VCR/DVD player

For campus events sponsored by College personnel: Follow this two-step process:

  • Step #1: Coordinate your request for an on-campus event with Business Services in A105 or at 619-388-3428. Requests must be submitted at least 2 business days in advance.

    Step #2: After you have contacted Business Services, you must fill out a Facilities Request Form. The Office of Classroom Technology Management staff will gladly assist you in filling out the “Multimedia” section of the form. Contact us.

Equipment available for on-campus events sponsored by College personnel includes:

  • CD player (indoor/outdoor weather permitting)
  • Laptop computer (indoor only)
  • LCD projector (indoor only)
  • PA sound system-- for voice projection only, not live musicians (indoor/outdoor weather permitting).
  • Television (indoor/outdoor weather permitting)
  • Transparency projector (indoor only)
  • VCR/DVD player (indoor/outdoor weather permitting)

For Smart Classrooms: The following rooms have equipment already installed; please contact us for training and access:

  • Instructional Center (R109-R115)
  • Academic Success Center (L106-L113)
  • Career Technology Center (V-bldg)
For classrooms without equipment: Equipment is available in all other rooms by reservation.

Training

We offer instructor training on Smart Classroom equipment and are available to assist guest presenters.

Equipment  Maintenance & Troubleshooting

We maintain and repair District audio-visual equipment only (item must have a District EQ number).  If it is beyond our abilities, we will direct you to the appropriate departmental paperwork (ERO, CSR, or IT Help Desk request).

Video production

  • Recording of events held on campus relating to campus organizations, faculty, and student events.
  • Editing/DVD production of events recorded by us.

Media Duplication and Transfer (within copyright compliance guidelines)

  • Duplication of instructor-created material for classroom/student use:
    VHS → VHS         DVD → DVD     CD→ CD
  • Transferring of instructor-created material for classroom/student use from:
    VHS → DVD      MiniDV → DVD     Computer file → DVD or CD
