What is walk-in counseling? Walk-in counseling is designed to provide students or prospective students with the opportunity to ask a counselor quick questions without the need to schedule an appointment.
Quick questions are defined as questions that can be answered sufficiently in a period of 10 minutes or less. If you are unsure of the appropriateness of your question for walk-in counseling, simply ask the counselor. They will let you know if the question can be addressed in a walk-in fashion. If not, you will be encouraged to make a one hour appointment.
There are an infinite number of quick questions that we can answer for you at walk-in; however some common requests that CANNOT/WILL NOT be adequately addressed at walk-in include:
- Career Counseling
- Creating an education plan
- Comprehensively reviewing the details of your existing education plan
- Detailed information about Associate degree and/or transfer requirements
- Full review of your current course work in relation to your goal
- Personal Counseling
The Counseling Department will be happy to provide or begin the above services in a one hour appointment. You can make appointments by calling or visiting the Counseling Office. Location, phone number and hours of operation are posted on the
home page.
