 Emergency Contraception - "Plan B"

"Plan B" is a type of emergency contraception.  It is a medication (levonorgestrel) taken to prevent pregnancy after having unprotected sex (or in the event of a slipped or broken condom).  It should be taken as soon as possible within 5 days of unprotected sexual intercourse.

"Plan B" can prevent pregnancy within 5 days of unprotected sex, it is more effective when taken earlier (within 3 days) than later.  Please do not delay.  Call or visit Student Health Services if you have any questions.

"Plan B" is available at Student Health Services for a fee.  It is also available over-the-counter as well as Planned Parenthood and other community clinics.
