An introductory course stressing correct pronunciation and the ability to speak, understand and read the language of everyday life. Fundamentals of grammar and composition and a rapid reading of simple German are practiced. Transfer Credit: CSU and/or private coll/univ.; UC.
Prerequisite: German 101 with a grade of "C" or better, or equivalent.

Advisory: Concurrent enrollment in German 201.
German 210 is designed to give students abundant practice in developing oral and written fluency in the language. Topics providing basis for discussion and prepared talks will include everyday life situations, current events, and German culture. Transfer Credit: CSU and/or private coll/univ.; UC.

German 211 is a continuation of German 210 at a more advanced level (NOTE: German majors and minors advised to take German 211 concurrently with German 202, if possible). Transfer Credit: CSU and/or private coll/univ.; UC.

For intermediate students who wish to work on special projects. This course may be taken four times with different content for a maximum of six units. Transfer Credit: CSU and/or private coll/univ.; UC transfer limitations. See a counselor.
