Tutorial/Learning Center
 
 

Services:

The Tutorial/Learning Center (TLC) offers tutoring in the majority of courses taught at San Diego City College, except English. English tutoring is conducted at the English Writing Center located at C-226.

We provide the following services at TLC: walk-in tutoring, group tutoring and one-on-one appointment.

Walk-in Tutoring

Walk-in tutoring is a setting where a tutor may work in helping more than one student at a time in a variety of subjects of his areas of competency. This type of tutoring is suitable for a student to ask brief questions to a tutor on a specific subject. Walk-in schedule is available at the front desk

One-on-One Appointment

One on One appointment is suitable for a student to obtain an in depth assistance on a subject with a qualified a tutor. Each appointment is scheduled for one hour.

Students are limited to two hours of appointment a week per subject, and appointments can be scheduled up to 10 days in advance depending on the availability of tutors.

The appointments are NOT ongoing. Student must schedule additional appointments with front desk staff.

Study groups

Tutor - facilitated study groups of two or more students in the same subject can be established by student request.

Online tutoring

Online tutoring gives you the freedom to attend from your home or any location where you have a computer with an internet connection, and to do so at your convenience. You will find that online tutoring has some unexpected benefits, and some new challenges as well.

*Policy Change

According to the new DISTRICT policy, all students who wish to receive tutoring services at the Tutorial/Learning Center and at ECC are required to have referral codes issued by professors, counselors or Tutorial/Learning Center Director.
