Course Descriptions
60A Level I Sheet Metal
2 hours lecture, 3 hours lab, 3 units
Advisory: Completion of English 56 and Mathematics 35, each with a
grade of "C" or better, or equivalent, or Assessment Skill Levels R5 and
M30.
Limitation on Enrollment: This course is not open to students with
credit for Sheet Metal 105 or 301A.
In this course, trade mathematics and drawings, the tools of the trade,
fasteners, metals, the principles of layout, sheet metal processing and
fabrication are covered. Associate Degree Credit.
60B Level I Sheet Metal
2 hours lecture, 3 hours lab, 3 units
Advisory: Completion of Sheet Metal 60A with a grade of "C" or better,
or equivalent.
Limitation on Enrollment: This course is not open to students with
credit for Sheet Metal 110 or 301B.
In this course, a continuation of fabrication (parallel line development),
and trade math are covered, as well as basic piping practices and radial
line development. Associate Degree Credit.
65A Level II Sheet Metal
2 hours lecture, 3 hours lab, 3 units
Advisory: Completion of Sheet Metal 60B with a grade of "C" or better,
or equivalent.
Limitation on Enrollment: This course is not open to students with
credit for Sheet Metal 115 or 302A.
This course includes: bend allowances, soldering, blueprints and
specifications, duct fabrication, SMACNA Manuals, insulation, gutters and
downspouts, roof flashings, and principles of air flow. Associate
Degree Credit.
65B Level II Sheet Metal
2 hours lecture, 3 hours lab, 3 units
Advisory: Completion of Sheet Metal 65A with a grade of "C" or better,
or equivalent.
Limitation on Enrollment: This course is not open to students with
credit for Sheet Metal 120 or 302B.
This course is a continuation of the principles of air flow. Other topics
include associated equipment, principles of refrigeration, fiberglass
ducts and an introduction to triangulation. Associate Degree Credit.

70A Level III Sheet Metal
2 hours lecture, 3 hours lab, 3 units
Advisory: Completion of Sheet Metal 65B with a grade of "C" or better,
or equivalent.
Limitation on Enrollment: This course is not open to students with
credit for Sheet Metal 125 or 304A.
In this course, students will review the principles of triangulation,
layout and pattern development using a variety of tools, equipment and
materials, as well as the fundamentals of welding, brazing, cutting, and
field measuring and fitting. Associate Degree Credit.
70B Level III Sheet Metal
2 hours lecture, 3 hours lab, 3 units
Advisory: Completion of Sheet Metal 70A with a grade of "C" or better,
or equivalent.
Limitation on Enrollment: This course is not open to students with
credit for Sheet Metal 130 or 304B.
This course covers shop production and organization, air balancing and an
introduction to a comprehensive review of fabrication. Associate
Degree Credit.
75A Level IV Sheet Metal
2 hours lecture, 3 hours lab, 3 units
Advisory: Completion of Sheet Metal 70B with a grade of "C" or better,
or equivalent.
Limitation on Enrollment: This course is not open to students with
credit for Sheet Metal 135 or 305A.
In this course, students will continue to review fabrication as well as
louvers, dampers, access doors, the use of hoods and ventilators, and how
to design fume and exhaust systems per OSHA and ACGHI standards.
Associate Degree Credit.
