Associate in Arts Degree: Philosophy

Academic Programs
The associate degree in philosophy requires completion of the courses listed for the degree. Additional general education and graduation requirements for the associate degree are listed in the catalog. The associate degree requires a minimum of 60 units.

Courses Required for the Major: Units
PHIL 100, Logic in Critical Thinking & Writing  3
PHIL 101, Symbolic Logic  3
Select one of the two - semester sequences:
PHIL 102A & 102B, Introduction to Philosophy, Reality & Knowledge & Values OR
PHIL 104A (Mesa) & 104B (Mesa), History of Western Philosophy
 3, 3
Select six units from:
Philosophy 102A, 102B, 104A, 104B, 106, 107, 110, 111, 125, 290, 296  3, 3
Total Units = 18

Recommended electives: Humanities 106, Philosophy 205.
