The
women's soccer team fell behind 1-0, but a late goal by Jeanette
Quinones tied Los Angeles Valley, 1-1, and saved the Knights
from their second loss of the season.
The first half was mostly a
defensive stuggle which saw no goals. The Knights did create a
couple of opportunities, but were unable to capitalize on them.
Los Angeles Valley scored the first goal of the game nine
minutes into the second half on a ball that was kicked from
about 35 yards out that went over the head of Knights'
goalkeeper Rebekah Hash.
After falling behind, the Knights
turned up the offensive pressure and created several
opportunities near the goal. In the 90th minute, SDCC forward
Anabel Benitez sent in a cross that found its way to Quinones
who tapped it in for the equalizer.

Knights Lose to
Pasadena, 4-1
The
SDCC men's soccer team held a 1-0 lead for most of the match,
but could not stop Pasadena's attack in the second half as they
allowed four unanswered goals.
The Knights jumped out to an early
1-0 lead in the 20th minute when Tony Melendez passed a ball
from near midfield to an open Justin Picou who headed it into
the far corner of the goal. The Knights' defense held strong the
remainder of the first half even though they allowed five corner
kicks and four shots on goal, three of which were saved by SDCC
