9/3/10 - Women's Volleyball
SDCC Wins First Match of 2010 In Sweeping Fashion
The Lady Knights started their 2010
campaign with a 3-0 sweep (25-16, 25-8, 25-22) of
visiting Mt. San Jacinto on Friday evening at the Harry
West Gymnasium.
In the first game, City led 15-13 then finished with a
10-3 run to win. The Lady Knights carried over that
momentum into the second game as they jumped out to a
10-1 lead and never looked back as they eventually won,
25-8.
Mt. San Jacinto did not seem discouraged, however, as
they gave City a tough battle in the third game. The
teams were even at 19-19, but the Lady Knights finished
on a 6-3 run to win, 25-22, and complete the sweep.
Men's Volleyball
Former
Players, Rindfleisch & Martinez, Sign With New Schools
Former SDCC men's volleyball players, Steve
Rindfleisch (left) and Eric Martinez (right), have both
signed to play with new schools in 2010-11. Rindfleisch
will be moving on to play at Brigham Young University in
Provo, Utah.
Martinez is headed to Parkville, Mo. to play at Park
University.
In 2010, Rindfleisch and Martinez helped lead the
Knights to their most successful season in their
four-year history. The Knights finished 9-9 overall and
6-6 in the PCAC.
8/27/10 - Women's Soccer
Knights Fall to Saddleback, 5-0, in Season Opener
The women's soccer team opened their 2010
season with a 5-0 home loss to Saddleback.
The Knights were on their heels for most of the game as
Saddleback controlled possession throughout. City fell
behind 3-0 at halftime and could not find a way back
into the game. The Gauchos eventually put in two more
goals early in the second half.
Mission Statement
While relentlessly pursuing scholastic
and athletic excellence we will maximize, improve, and
maintain a comprehensive intercollegiate sports program
that facilitates the matriculation of student athletes
under the guidelines of the PCAC and the CCCAA.
We are committed to protecting the
welfare of prospective and current student athletes and
feel that their participation in intercollegiate
athletics is an integral part of their overall
educational maturation. This experience must, at
all times, exemplify honesty, integrity, and ethical
conduct.
