Stan Hill Selected Men's
Athlete of the Week |

The
Pacific Coast Conference has selected City's Stan Hill as its
Men's Athlete of the Week for the week that ended on March 12.
Hill, a freshman outfielder, led the
Knights to a 10-6 victory over Grossmont on March 9 that dropped
the Griffins out of a first place tie with Palomar and helped
move City into a tie for second place in the conference.
He went 4-4 against the Griffins
with three RBI, three runs scored, and a two-run triple that
helped spark the Knights' seven-run fourth inning. |

Chris
Brown
is in his 16th year of coaching at the
Community College level. He began his career in 1990 as an
assistant coach at Saddleback College, located in Mission Viejo
California. During Brown’s seven-year stint at Saddleback the
Gauchos won two Orange Empire Conference Championships and State
Champion runners up in 1998. In 1995 Brown was selected the
first Head Coach at El Paso Community College (TX). Brown was
responsible for the successful start up of the EPCC athletic
program. The “Tejanos” rapidly developed and with a 23-20
overall record in just their second season and advanced to the
NJCAA Region V playoffs.
Brown enters his seventh season as the Head Coach at San Diego
City College. Over the past four seasons the Knights have
continually improved to a respected power in the Pacific Coast
Conference finishing 13-12 in conference and 21-17 overall in
2003. Over the past five seasons seven players from SDCC program
have been professionally drafted, Sergio Mitre (Montgomery H.S)
was called up to the major leagues in 2003.
