Stan Hill Selected Men's Athlete of the Week
The Pacific Coast Conference has selected City's Stan Hill as its Men's Athlete of the Week for the week that ended on March 12.

Hill, a freshman outfielder, led the Knights to a 10-6 victory over Grossmont on March 9 that dropped the Griffins out of a first place tie with Palomar and helped move City into a tie for second place in the conference.

He went 4-4 against the Griffins with three RBI, three runs scored, and a two-run triple that helped spark the Knights' seven-run fourth inning.

Chris Brown is in his 16th year of coaching at the Community College level. He began his career in 1990 as an assistant coach at Saddleback College, located in Mission Viejo California. During Brown’s seven-year stint at Saddleback the Gauchos won two Orange Empire Conference Championships and State Champion runners up in 1998. In 1995 Brown was selected the first Head Coach at El Paso Community College (TX). Brown was responsible for the successful start up of the EPCC athletic program. The “Tejanos” rapidly developed and with a 23-20 overall record in just their second season and advanced to the NJCAA Region V playoffs.

Brown enters his seventh season as the Head Coach at San Diego City College. Over the past four seasons the Knights have continually improved to a respected power in the Pacific Coast Conference finishing 13-12 in conference and 21-17 overall in 2003. Over the past five seasons seven players from SDCC program have been professionally drafted, Sergio Mitre (Montgomery H.S) was called up to the major leagues in 2003. [more]
