Head Coach - Kylie Edwards
Kylie
Edwards is in her fourth year at San Diego City College and
second year as head coach of the women's cross country team.
Edwards, a
certified personal trainer, received her master's degree in
Exercise Science and Nutrition from San Diego State
University in May, 2006. At SDSU, she was a six-time
All-Mountain West Conference academic selection and achieved
personal bests of 4:27:00 in the 1500 meters, 2:07:39 in the
800 meters, and 56:66 in the 400 meters. In 2000, Edwards
participated in the Australian Olympic Trials.
Assistant
Head Coach - Lisa Williams
Lisa Williams brings over 25 years of coaching/teaching
experience to the City College Knights. She has coached
track & field and basketball at the high school, community
college, and 4-year university levels. Additionally,
Williams has trained individuals for triathlons and cross
country road races. Following graduation from Eastern
Illinois University, Williams spent three years coaching
high school basketball and distance runners on the track and
field team in Washington, Ill. She then moved to Arizona and
coached basketball as a graduate assistant at Arizona State
University. After obtaining her Master's Degree in Exercise
Science from ASU, she spent five years at Northern Arizona
University coaching basketball. She was also the strength
and conditioning coach for all women's sports and assisted
with the women's volleyball team. During her time in Arizona
she was a top five ranked triathlete who raced
professionally for a few years. Williams then moved to San
Diego and became the Head Women's Basketball coach at San
Diego Mesa College. During her 14 years as head coach at
Mesa, her teams won the Pacific Coast Conference
championship 10 times. Continuing her personal passion for
running and triathlons, Lisa continues to compete and train
others for road races around San Diego county.
