over Rio Hondo on April 7.

batters throughout the game. She allowed only two of them to reach base
on walks, but the defense behind her made sure neither scored. One of
the Rio Hondo players to reach base was caught stealing and the other
was put out on a double play.

offensively to lead the Knights to victory. She hit a 2-run home run in
the first inning, and in the third inning, drove in Alexis Coronado with
a single. Coronado had led off the inning with a triple. Rangel

Garrett's groundout led to a bad throw by the Comets' first baseman.

Garrett struck out the next two batters and forced a pop-up to end the
inning. In the bottom of the fourth, Nadia Rangel led-off with a single
that was followed by a sacrifice bunt by Martinez. Amanda Wilson then
smoked a single up the middle to score Rangel in what would end up being
the game-winning RBI. Palomar loaded the bases with only one out in the
sixth inning, but Garrett struck out the next batter, looking, and the
following batter hit a line drive to shortstop Coronado's glove and she
easily touched second base for the third out. In the seventh, Palomar
was retired in order to end the game.

second base on a steal.

with a single and was then bunted over to second base by Lupe Balajadia.
Erika Rangel reached base on a walk and Natalie Garrett followed with a
