WOMEN'S TENNIS
Head Coach - Sue Whiteside
The
San Diego City College Women’s Tennis Team is under the direction of
Sue Whiteside. Sue is currently the Director of Tennis at Stoneridge
Country Club. She was selected the San Diego Female Pro/Coach of the
Year by the USTA in 2003.
Prior to that, Sue was the Head Women's Tennis Coach at Penn State
University for nine years where she won the Atlantic 10 Conference
Championship and coached the first Penn State singles player to qualify
to the NCAA Championships.
She also was an instructor at Penn State in the Exercise and Sport
Science Department and directed the Penn State Tennis Sports Camps.
San Diego City College offers a great environment
to play tennis year round. As a member of the San Diego Community
College District, San Diego City College is a part of the second largest
community college system in the State of California. With diverse
programs and transfer agreements with the University of California and
California State University systems, San Diego City College provides a
variety of academic options for student/athletes. There are many
advantages to attending a community college the first two years, one of
which is financial as it is significantly less expensive. We will assist
in directing you to the financial aid options available.
