Registered Nurses (RNs) care for people with acute and chronic illnesses by administering medications, performing treatments, and drawing blood as prescribed by physicians. They observe physical, mental, social and emotional changes in patients, record their findings, and maintain health records. Some nurses teach or supervise other nurses or assist doctors during examinations and surgery.
Education:
Registered Nurses need an Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN), or Bachelor or Master of Science in Nursing degree (BSN or MSN). They also must pass the NCLEX Registered Nursing Examination and meet state board requirements.
