Salary Range:

  Hourly
Entry Level $7.00-$15.00
Group exercise leaders $10.00-$40.00
Personal Trainers $15.00-$70.00

Fitness Specialists are trained as group exercise leaders and personal trainers to design personalized exercise programs and establish methods of healthy behavior for their clients. They analyze and evaluate a client's physical condition, monitor weight training exercises and provide nutritional evaluations and recommendations. They also teach and demonstrate proper body movements and the correct use of exercise equipment.

Experience:
A Physical Fitness Specialist certificate is highly recommended as some employers allow formal training to substitute for on-the-job experience. Prove ability is a plus.
