City Times seeks writers, photographers, graphic designers and
editors. The paper seeks editors and writers with interest in:

published regularly throughout
the school year, has served the San Diego City College community since
1945. The college newspaper provides students the opportunity for
class workshops and actual experience in writing, editing and
production. The newspaper is published as a learning experience
through City College's developing, award-winning Journalism program.
Journalism is part of San Diego City College's dynamic
Communications
Department,
offering courses and degree programs in Radio/Television/Film and
Speech, and home of cutting-edge radio station Jazz88 and
award-winning "Newscene" student television broadcast.
Journalism is in the process of developing a new set of courses
designed to help train aspiring journalists and industry members in
the latest trends and techniques in a rapidly changing industry.

Learn what it takes to write for the media. Apply what you learn to

an historical, aesthetic and critical survey of cinema with emphasis
on the evolution of techniques now used in the production of
feature, documentary, educational television, and industrial film.

Production: Now available for 3 units! If you want to learn what it
takes to produce an award-winning student newspaper, sign up for
Journalism 210A, the production lab for City Times. If you're in
Journalism 200, join the newspaper and apply the skills you learn in
J200 as a staff member. Choose 2 units or 3 units depending on the

Communication: Explore the world of information as it relates to our
everyday lives through learning the history and developments of such
mass media as film, television, the Internet, newspapers, books and
magazines. JOUR 202 is transferable for Communications and
