Services                      The English Tutorial Center offers tutoring in writing, reading, and speaking and listening for all of the courses taught at San Diego City College.

Walk-in Tutoring          Here at the English Tutorial Center, we have a walk-in tutoring policy. There is no appointment necessary! Walk-in tutoring is a setting where a tutor will work with you on any assignment at any stage of your process for up to 30 minutes; sessions may go longer if necessary. We also help you to begin working independently while providing the student with support by answering brief questions and checking in while you work.

Study Groups               Tutor-facilitated study groups of two or more students in the same subject can be established by student request.

The Computer Lab      We have a 23 station computer lab available for all students. Students are welcome to use e-mail, do internet research, work on a number of self-paced tutorial writing and reading programs, and work on PowerPoint, Excel, and Microsoft Word. Students may also receive tutoring while writing a paper or doing internet research. Students who have limited or no computer skills are welcome to come and learn how to use computers.

Workshops                   Workshops are given by faculty and tutors ranging from ESOL and Basic Skills, to punctuation and grammar practice, basic word processing, resume writing, writing the personal statement, writing research papers, creative writing, and more. These workshops are offered to all students campus-wide. Workshops are also open to Faculty, and flex credit can be awarded. See Available Workshops
