Imagine a thriving organic farm nestled in the heart of the city
where students and community members work together to create
a magical space that cultivates respect for the environment. The
Farm will provide urban students and the community, who have little
or no access to local, organic produce, an opportunity to engage in
a hands-on education in sustainable agriculture, health, nutrition,
and leadership. Interested gardeners will be able to participate in
an entrepreneurial activity while they’re obtaining meaningful work
experience. Students will learn directly form organic farmers and
then share the bounty of the farm with the community.
Scholarships
Urban Farm Scholarships are available to SDCCD, SDHS and Garfield
High students. Award winners must commit to learning and working in
the Farm 10-12 hours/week for 8 weeks this summer under the guidance
of local organic farmers. Please download the application. Please
email your completed
