May 1st -- Voyage For Cleaner Energy by
Robert Swan, 11:10am - 12:30pm, Saville Theater
Robert Swan, a polar explorer who walked to both the North and
South Poles, experienced global warming firsthand, and has dedicated
himself to spreading awareness and preservation. His slides and
lecture will inspire us to take positive action to reduce greenhouse
gas emissions. The Voyage for Cleaner Energy:2041 (the sailboat made
of recycled materials) launches from San Francisco in April of 2008
and includes a stop in San Diego. It will conclude in Asia in 2012 at
the World Summit on Sustainability.Â

MAQUILAPOLIS – CITY OF
FACTORIES
April 3 --
Maquilapolis
is a film that brought together factory workers and community
organizations in Tijuana depicting globalization through the eyes of
the women who live on its leading edge. We will have a screening and
a Q&A session after the film. This event will take place in
room A213 at 11:00am. We will show the film again in A213 at 7:00pm.
