B.S. Brown University
M.S. , Ph. D. University of Chicago, University of  California at Berkeley

Recipient of numerous Outstanding Teaching awards locally and nationally.

Presenter at various conferences and workshops on innovative, state-of-the-art developments in Computer and Information Sciences and in Teaching and Learning.

Consultant to industry, educational institutions and government agencies, which include Computer Sciences Corporation, Scripps Institute of Oceanography, UCSD, San Diego State, The San Diego Association of Governments and the Naval Ocean Systems Center.

A special passion -- besides teaching -- is walking -- sunset beach strolls, neighborhood ambles, nature hikes, fitness walking, marathon race-walking, long-distance walking (up to 100K in a day), and conducting walking tours locally and around the world as a founder of Walkabout International, the largest walking organization in the world.
