Experience:
After years of Medical/Surgical bedside Nursing, I was fortunate to
have the opportunity to move into the area of psychiatric nursing. I
worked in an inpatient psychiatric unit in San Diego from 1981 to 2002
as a Charge Nurse, Addictive Behavior Coordinator, and Team Leader. I
now work still as a Psychiatric Liaison consultant in the emergency
departments and floors of the Scripps Healthcare System. My focus is on
assessment and crisis management.
Advocate:
I am a passionate advocate for the psychiatrically ill client. I am honored to be able to educate student RN's to understand, respect, and have compassion for the mentally ill. I also love the rich and rewarding profession of nursing and have the opportunity to pass on this
passion to new nurses.
