San Diego City College is
accredited by the Accrediting Commission for Community and Junior
Colleges of the Western Association of Schools and Colleges, an
institutional accrediting body recognized by the Council on
Postsecondary Accreditation and the U.S. Department of Education. City
College is also accredited by the Office of Private Postsecondary
Education for the training of veterans, and the U.S. Department of State
and the U.S. Immigration Service for international student education.
City College courses paralleling university level work are accepted by
universities, colleges, and private institutions, including the
University of California and California State University.
Additionally, the San Diego City College Nursing Education Program is
fully accredited by the California Board
of Registered Nursing (BRN) and the
National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission (NLNAC).
Persons interested in the institution’s accreditation and program
approvals may review documents describing these activities in the Office
of the President. These documents will be available for such review at a
mutually convenient time during regular business hours, and an
appropriate interpretation of their contents will be provided if
requested.
