FOREIGN LANGUAGES

We Believe Our Students:

  • Must explore different aspects of culture

  • Develop cultural awareness of the language being taught

  • Should attempt to pronounce the sounds of the target language as correctly as possible and to tune into the melody of the sentences

  • Should see the “textbook and CDs/ tapes” as a guideline to learning the language

    Favorite Assignments:

  • Role Play real life situations

  • Drama-hypothetical situations role playing

  • Dialogue-about real life situations

  • Question and answer-students in the classroom learn by showing evidence in formation of answers

  • Creative Games

  • Decision Drama

  • Presentations

    These support student learning through:

  • Risk Taking

  • Development of self-confidence

  • Communicative competence

    What Frustrates Us:

  • The students' busy lives: work, social, family…placed in priority to their studies

  • Unable to provide adequate motivation for students' learning

  • Lack of interest (effort) to acquire target language

  • Lack of learning skills
