About the LRC
Situated along Park Boulevard in the heart of San Diego's downtown area, the San Diego City College Learning Resource Center (LRC) is located on the southwest corner of the campus. Dramatic 180-degree views of the San Diego skyline and the Coronado Bay Bridge draw students and faculty here for study and research.
The 67,000 square foot, three-level facility includes the following resources and services:
The Library is located on the entrance
level and upper level of the LRC. It provides circulation and reference
materials, periodicals, the copy room, and the "smart" Library instruction
classroom. Four group study rooms are available, as well as an instructional
workshop room for computer-based training on the third level (R-301).
The Multimedia Center
is located on the lower level of the LRC. It houses videos and
the college's primary collection of multimedia technology for instructional
support.
The Independent Learning Center (ILC) is located on the lower level of the
LRC. It provides computer labs and supplementary course materials in conjunction
with courses and subjects taught on campus.
CitySITE, the faculty/staff
development center, is located on the lower level of the LRC. It provides
faculty and staff Support for Integration of Technology in Education (SITE).
General Policies:
Food & Drink: Eating or drinking inside the LRC is not permitted.
Animals: Except service animals, animals are not allowed in the LRC.
Talking: Please keep noise to a minimum while working. Use group study rooms for study. Respect the needs of fellow students when in the LRC so as not to distract them from their studies.
Headphones: Please keep the volume at minimum so you do not disturb others around you.
Cell Phones & Pagers: Cell phone use within the LRC is not permitted. Please keep pagers and cell phones on "vibration mode" at all times. If you receive a call, please take the call outside the building.
Valuables: Please keep an eye on your valuables. Do not leave books, purses,
backpacks, or any other valuable item unattended as it may be stolen. The LRC is
not responsible for damage or theft of personal items left unattended.
