About the ILC
Located on the lower level of the Learning Resource Center in R-105, 106 and 107.

The ILC provides word processing facilities and Internet access for students. It is the primary facility for students to complete 296 individual instruction courses. It offers independent learning materials for many courses.
Students need their current ID to be able to access the rooms and log their time.
Services
- Individualized learning experiences to improve academic skills or augment in-class activities.
- ILC staff will help students get started using software; however, students should have basic computer skills. Students looking for basic computer training may look into taking classes on campus.
- WebCT accomodations
- Language students can tape themselves speaking in the ILC if they bring their own cassette tape. Contact the ILC for more details.
- Students can videotape themselves to fulfill course requirements. Contact the ILC for more details.
Equipment & Software
- Approximately 120 computers with multimedia hardware, including eight with adaptive equipment and software
- Adaptive software includes: Window Eyes, Zoomtext, Dragon Naturally Speaking, Jaws, Kurzwil- Scan & Read. One room has a computer with a ball mouse.
- Word processing, PowerPoint and spreadsheet software

- Black/white printer in each room that uses campus copy card
- Color printer in R105

Dragon Naturally Speaking - Voice Activated program that allows individuals to use their voice where they would otherwise use the mouse and keyboard.Kurzweil 3000 - A scan and read program that allows individuals to utilize study skill features and access printed materials through listening.
JAWS - Screen Reading program that reads text and computer content. It is designed for individuals who are blind.
Window-Eyes - Screen Reading program that reads text and computer content. It is designed for individuals who are blind.
ZoomText - Screen magnification and reading program. It is designed for individuals with low vision.
Scanner-Used in conjunctions with Kurzweil to scan printed materials into an electronic format for ease of access.
Collections
Extensive media collection including close captioned video and DVD Library in various disciplines such as Math, Black Studies, History, and Foreign Language.
