What is the Mecomtronics Computer and Engineering Program?

The Mecomtronics program is San Diego City College’s response to industry’s need for multifunctional technicians competent in MEchanical, COMputer, and ElecTRONICS technology. In this program students develop a unique balance of academic proficiency and technological skills through hands-on projects and team work. Academically, students will be prepared to transfer to a four-year university. Technologically, students trained in Mecomtronics will be able to apply electronic theory and related knowledge in order to build, test, repair and modify electronic equipment in industrial, commercial or research settings. In addition, they will be computer literate – able to effectively use word processors, spreadsheets, Internet resources, and circuit simulation software.
