The
purpose of the San Diego City College Nursing Education Program is to provide an
educational opportunity for qualified individuals interested in a career in
nursing. The nursing curriculum prepares individuals to assume the
responsibility for providing health care to clients with acute and chronic
illnesses. Nursing theory is coordinated with laboratory experiences in local
hospitals and health care agencies under the supervision of nursing faculty
members. The nursing program prepares the graduate for employment as an entry
level staff Registered Nurse in a variety of health care settings, including
acute care hospitals, long-term care facilities, home health agencies,
outpatient clinics and doctors' offices. Nursing Program Philosophy (PDF)
