T he purpose of the San Diego City College Nursing Education Program is to provide an educational opportunity for qualified individuals interested in a career in nursing. The nursing curriculum prepares individuals to assume the responsibility for providing health care to clients with acute and chronic illnesses. Nursing theory is coordinated with laboratory experiences in local hospitals and health care agencies under the supervision of nursing faculty members. The nursing program prepares the graduate for employment as an entry level staff Registered Nurse in a variety of health care settings, including acute care hospitals, long-term care facilities, home health agencies, outpatient clinics and doctors' offices.Nursing Program Philosophy (PDF)
