Student Retention Strategies

City College has a vast array of support service programs designed to assist students to be successful here at City.  Our goal is to assist our students by providing “Mobile Peer Mentoring”.  What is Mobile Peer Mentoring?  Working with Title V, we have developed a program that encourages a proactive approach toward encouraging students to make use of supportive programs.  “Peer Mentors” contact students  on campus and provide classroom presentations, sharing valuable information about programs such as counseling, financial aid, and EOPS.  We have found this to be a very effective approach and our students are responding and appreciate our efforts to share valuable information with them.
