Puente Schedule

Fall Semester
Students enroll in English 51 and the Personal Growth 127. In the counseling class, we focus on college success skills, as well as building group cohesion and a sense of “familia” amongst students and team leaders. Students will be matched with a mentor and will participate in mentor activities. Additionally, Puente students attend the annual fall student motivational conference at a southern California university. A variety of Puente activities and field trips supplement the academic program.

 

Spring Semester
Successful Puente students continue with the same English instructor into English 101. Students continue to work with their mentors and participate in a variety of activities. In the spring, we concentrate on ensuring transfer success through fulfilling transfer requirements, meeting with university representatives, and campus tours. We conclude the year with a family gathering and celebration.
