The Community College Baccalaureate Association (CCBA) The Community College Baccalaureate Association (CCBA) is pleased to announce that they are accepting essays for the 7th Annual Student Essay Contest. The essay topic for 2010 is "Why obtaining a four year degree on my community college campus would be important to me."

Any student currently enrolled in a community college is eligible, and there is no limit to the number of students per school who may enter. The winning student will receive $1,000, and the student's college Student Government Association will also receive a $1,000 award.

Considering today’s economic outlook, $1,000 could go a long way to help pay for college expenses. Please pass this notice on to students, colleagues, English department teachers, school newspapers, financial aid offices or anyone else you think might have an interest in this opportunity. Attached is a press release and information about entering the contest. The deadline to enter is February 5, 2010, but we are encouraging students to submit their entries during the first semester / quarter of this school year.
